Privacy policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
The short version
- We collect what you give us: your sign-in email, the photos and videos you add, the pages your AI makes and how you organise them.
- Your library is private. Only pages you publish are public, to people with the link, until the link ends.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other sites.
- You can delete a photo, a link or your whole account at any time.
Who we are
Linkit (“Linkit”, “we”, “us”) is an independent product based in Alberta, Canada. This policy covers the Linkit website, dashboard and app, and the Linkit connection you can add to ChatGPT or Claude. Questions: support@linkitapp.ai.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address and the password or sign-in method you choose. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address (or Apple's private relay address) from them. We don't receive your Apple or Google password.
What you add to Linkit
- Photos and videos you upload, or that your AI adds for you. We re-save photos and convert videos when they arrive, which removes location and other hidden details from the files.
- The pages your AI makes: their words, layout and which photos they show, plus each link's title, description and how long it stays up.
- How you organise things: folders, photo captions, and any details your AI notes about a folder (for example an apartment's number of bedrooms).
When you connect ChatGPT or Claude
Your AI works with Linkit on your behalf. We receive what it sends us, such as photos you attach in a chat and the page it writes. We don't receive your conversations. When you ask your AI to look at or sort your photos, we send it small previews of them so it can see them.
Things fetched from the web
When your AI adds a photo from a website or a YouTube or Vimeo video to a page, we fetch it from that site. Video players on pages load from YouTube or Vimeo in their privacy-enhanced modes.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist on our website, we keep your email address and when you joined, to invite you to Linkit and send you a few emails about when Linkit opens. Nothing else is collected with it.
Subscriptions
When paid plans are offered in the app, purchases are handled by Apple. We receive whether your subscription is active (through our subscription provider), never your card details.
Technical information
Like any website, our servers and hosting providers process technical information such as IP addresses, device and browser type, and request times, to deliver Linkit, keep it secure (for example, limiting repeated requests) and fix problems. These logs are kept for a limited time.
Cookies and browser storage
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. The dashboard keeps you signed in and remembers a few display choices (such as grid or list view) in your browser's own storage.
How we use it
- To run Linkit: store your library, publish your pages, give each one a link and take it down on time.
- To keep people safe: check pages for common scam tricks before they go live, prevent abuse, and act on reports.
- To contact you: sign-in and account emails, and important notices about the service.
- To help you when you write to support.
We don't sell or rent your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use your photos or pages to train AI models.
Public pages
A page you publish can be seen by anyone with its link while the link is active, and they can share that link further. Messaging and social apps that open the link show a preview with the page's title, description and cover photo. Linkit asks search engines not to list pages, and doesn't publish a directory of them.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run Linkit, for that purpose:
- Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in (data stored in Singapore).
- Railway: the servers that run Linkit (in Southeast Asia).
- Resend: sending sign-in and account emails.
- Cloudflare: our domain, this website, the waitlist, email forwarding, and the preview pictures of published pages (screenshots of their public top part).
- Apple and our subscription provider, RevenueCat: subscriptions in the app, when offered.
When you connect ChatGPT (OpenAI) or Claude (Anthropic), what Linkit returns to your AI is handled under that company's own privacy policy. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or Linkit's users.
How long we keep it
- Your library (photos, videos, folders): until you delete it. Deleted photos and videos wait in Recently deleted for 30 days, where only you can see and restore them, then they're erased. You can erase them sooner with Delete for good or Empty.
- Links: when you delete a link, it stops working for everyone at once and waits in Recently deleted for 30 days, where only you can preview or restore it; then it's erased, or sooner if you delete it for good. When a link's time runs out, its content is erased within about an hour, and its remaining record within 30 days.
- The waitlist: until you join Linkit or ask us to remove you.
- Deleted folders: removed within 30 days. Deleting a folder never deletes its photos; they move to the folder above.
- Your account: when you delete it (Account → Delete account), your pages, folders, photos and sign-in are deleted straight away. Copies can remain in our providers' backups for a limited time until they're replaced.
Your choices and rights
You can see, change and delete your content in Linkit at any time. You can also ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to support@linkitapp.ai. Depending on where you live (for example in Canada, the EU, the UK or California), you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict how we use your information, or to complain to your data protection authority. We'll answer within 30 days.
Children
Linkit isn't for children under 13, or under the minimum age in your country. We don't knowingly collect children's information; if you think a child has an account, write to us and we'll delete it.
Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections, your library is kept in private storage, and access to it is limited to running the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your sign-in to yourself.
Where your information is processed
Our providers may process information outside your country, including in Singapore, Japan and the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app or by email if the change is significant.
